Disney factory audit overview: Disney requires all factories involved in the production of Disney branded products to meet and maintain at least the necessary level of compliance with the code of conduct, known as Minimum Compliance Standards (MCS). MCS requires factories to prove that there are no violations of any of the following categories: child labor, non voluntary labor, coercion and/or harassment, discrimination, serious health and safety conditions, freedom of association, subcontracting, and family workers. In addition, MCS requires factories to provide complete and accurate information, including viewing all actual locations within the factory, relevant documents, and conducting individual interviews with workers. Disney Factory Inspection Overview

Acceptable, requires zero issues to achieve;

Improvement: If there are problems during the audit but no serious non conformities, the contract factory inspection result is generally written as: accepted by the customer, no serious non conformities.

Note: Disney will not inform the factory if it passes the factory inspection, and will notify within three months if it does not pass.

Disney Factory Inspection and Audit Standards

1. Child labor: This is a restricted area, any customer would do the same

2. Underage workers: labor bureau registration, filing and physical examination, etc

3. Forced labor: Enterprises will give every employee dignity and respect, and shall not use corporal punishment, violence or threats

4. Discrimination: Enterprises shall not discriminate against employees in the hiring and employment process, including discrimination based on race, religion, age, nationality, social or ethnic group, sexual orientation, gender, political views, or disability reasons in terms of salary, benefits, promotion, punishment, dismissal, or retirement

5. Freedom of Association: Enterprises will respect the right of employees to form associations, organize, and engage in group negotiations in a legal and peaceful manner, without punishment or interference

6. Occupational health and safety: Enterprises will provide safe and healthy workplaces for employees in accordance with all relevant laws and regulations, and ensure that they have access to drinking water and sanitation facilities that meet their minimum needs; Fire safety, as well as adequate lighting and ventilation, will ensure that the same health and safety standards are implemented when providing any dormitories for employees.

7. Salary: Enterprises must recognize that salary is essential for meeting the basic needs of employees. Enterprises should at least comply with all laws and regulations related to wages and working hours, including laws and regulations on minimum wage, overtime, maximum working hours, piece rate, and other parts of compensation, and provide legally prescribed benefits. Unless there are special business circumstances, enterprises shall not require employees to work more than the shorter of the following two:

a. 48 hours of work per week plus 12 hours of overtime,

b. Local laws allow for restrictions on normal and overtime working hours. If local laws do not limit working hours, it is the normal working week of the relevant country plus 12 hours of overtime. In addition, unless there are special business circumstances, employees have the right to take at least one day off every seven days.

The Disney factory inspection coaching process is as follows:

1. On site audit auditors conduct a series of inspections on the maintenance and upkeep of fire-fighting facilities, machinery and equipment, ventilation and lighting in the work area, environmental protection work, etc., to ensure that all of the above items meet the audit standards for factory inspection;

2. The document review auditor inspects the factory's document materials according to the requirements of the factory inspection, mainly including employee wage and hour records, employee information, and other production records; For documents that require storage for the past 12 months, the requirements must be met within the last 3 months;

3. The list of personnel for employee interviews is extracted from on-site and personnel data, mainly biased towards younger and honest looking employees. Employee interviews are conducted independently, and factory representatives are not allowed to intervene;

4. The reviewer of the audit summary meeting issues an interim audit report, summarizing the problems and areas for improvement in the factory. If necessary, follow-up audits may be required, depending on the severity of the issues.
