BSCI factory inspection requirements

1、 Management Responsibilities:

1. Notify management personnel and suppliers of the content of the BSCI Code of Conduct.

2. Establish a responsibility mechanism within the company organization to address all issues related to the BSCI Code of Conduct.

3. Appoint one or more management personnel to be responsible for implementing the BSCI Code of Conduct.

4. Monitor the company's compliance with the BSCI Code of Conduct and implement necessary changes within the company premises.

2、 Employee awareness:

1. Declare to employees their support for the principles of the BSCI Code of Conduct, and explain and teach the content of the BSCI Code of Conduct to their employees and subcontractor employees. The company must fully translate the BSCI Code of Conduct into appropriate local languages and prominently display it in factories and other business premises. It is necessary to verbally introduce the BSCI Code of Conduct and provide relevant information to employees in a language that they can understand.

2. Regularly provide employees with training on workplace safety and educate them on the impact of their activities on humans and the environment.

3、 Keep records:

1. Keep the names, ages, working hours, and salaries of all employees, and make these records available for submission at any time upon request by BSCI auditors.

2. Record all hazardous materials and locations with potential hazards.

3. Monitor and maintain safety equipment and tools.

4. Continuously update the documentation of relevant legal requirements and regulations.

4、 Complaints and corrective measures:

1. Assign an employee to handle complaints related to BSCI issues.

2. Record and investigate complaints from employees or third parties regarding BSCI issues, and report these complaints and necessary corrective measures taken against them.

3. Prepare resources to take necessary corrective measures.

4. Avoid firing or imposing other disciplinary actions on employees who provide feedback on the BSCI Code of Conduct.

5、 Suppliers and subcontractors:

1. Making the adoption of social responsibility standards and compliance with the BSCI Code of Conduct a condition for signing all contracts with suppliers.

2. Require suppliers to regularly report on their progress in implementing the BSCI Code of Conduct.

4. Provide BSCI members with information about their activities and production sites.

5. Allow organizations representing BSCI members to audit their and their subcontractors' premises at any time, with or without prior notice.

6. Consequences of non-compliance: If the supplier fails to meet the requirements of the BSCI Code of Conduct, and if a solution cannot be agreed upon and implemented within sufficient time, BSCI members may choose to cease current production, cancel the corresponding contract, temporarily cancel future contracts, and/or terminate the business relationship with the supplier. If the review results indicate that the supplier has not fully complied with the BSCI Code of Conduct, the supplier must immediately take designated corrective measures. The supplier will agree with the auditor on a deadline for implementing corrective measures, but not exceeding 12 months. If a supplier who was previously excluded due to non-compliance later demonstrates that they can fully comply with the BSCI Code of Conduct, their previous business relationship can be restored in principle.
